OUTLINE OF CHAPTER
 
Prophet’s night journey and vision of heaven: Lote-tree as symbol of paradise.
Who will be in paradise: the foremost and who attained to righteousness (after sinning), light emanating from believers, rewards for good deeds, martyrs and those who suffered in God’s cause, sacrificed their lives and possessions, kept covenant with God and man, doing right, forbidding evil, prayer and charity, hold in check anger, pardoned others and asked for forgiveness, feeding the hungry without desire of recompense, praying for forgiveness and giving charity, gates of paradise wide open and welcome from the angels.
Heavenly bliss: Impossibility of man’s imagining paradise. Infinite gardens of paradise: righteous deeds mirrored in fruits of heaven, paradise beyond the count of time, freedom from unworthy thoughts and feelings, everlasting happiness, facing one another on the thrones of happiness, bracelets of gold, green garments of silk and brocade, mansions of paradise, total peace and fulfillment, drink from unsullied springs, conversation of the blessed, gardens of perpetual bliss with beloved spouses, angels surrounding the throne of God’s almightiness, flowering meadows of the gardens of paradise, all that the souls desire and the eyes might delight in, everlasting paradise, rivers of water, milk, wine and honey, reuniting with family, infinite gardens with wondrous hues, springs, every kind of fruit, reclining on golden thrones, companion pure, fruit-laden lote-trees, spouses of eternal youth, heavenly drinks, vessels of silver and goblets, luxuriant gardens and vineyards, pure wine from fountain of paradise, gardens through which running waters flow.
