(28) Judgment Day

OUTLINE OF CHAPTER
 
Advent of judgment day: Single call of the judgment day, trumpet of judgment, and smoke enveloping all mankind. Transformation (not annihilation) of the universe: When all will be sundered, earth a mere handful and heavens rolled up, skies rolled up as written scroll, cosmic catastrophe, destruction of sun, moon and stars, day of great convulsions, when mountains disappear and seas boiled over, earth changed into another earth, earth will bear witness, when animals are gathered.
End of earthbound concept of time: On earth for a little while, spent a few days on earth, on earth for an hour, judgment day as long as thousand years, tarried no longer than one night.
The great gathering of all mankind: Bringing dead back to life, calamitous is this day, Al-Qiyamah (resurrection, 75), Al-Qariah (The sudden calamity, 101). Perfect insight and true motivation for past doings: Men choose their own destiny, we have lifted your veil, freedom from self-deception, true motivations of the past deeds, when past deeds will become self evident.
Appearance of God and angels: Angels around the throne of almightiness, none will speak without God’s leave, accounting of mankind, mankind divided into three, no one is fully protected from chastisement. Accounting of the righteous: Doers of good, righteous secure from terror of judgment day, easy accounting of the righteous.
Testimonies of all prophets and Satan: No intercession except for God’s leave, Muhammad as witness, call to account all prophets, testimony of Satan, prophets as witnesses, on the day of distinction.
Accounting of evildoers: Those who attributed lies to God, just balance-scales, arrogant men, blindness in hereafter, facing God in a lonely state, good deeds of sinners like scattered dust, evil not atoned for by repentance, when mankind seems drunk, sinners will bite their hands, grouped according to gravity of sins, those who rejected message bearers, when parents will be of no avail, personal accountability, shrink in terror and nowhere to escape, distinction between truth and falsehood, mutual reproaches of sinners, separation from loved ones, twice birth and death, sinners’ own selves bearing witness against them, man’s ingratitude and self-righteousness, harvest of a person’s spiritual character in hereafter, those who denied day of judgment, sinners dragged by their forelocks, record of sinners, offering ransom for sufferings, day when children’s hair turn grey, woe on that day, utter confusion.
Visibility of Hell and Haven: not all sinners damned, gathering of sinners and satanic forces around hell, paradise brought in view.
