(27) Afterlife , Last hour

OUTLINE OF CHAPTER
Realm beyond the reach of human perception: God consciousness and al-ghayb. Jinn: An-Nas (men, 114), creation of jinn, Quran and jinn, Al-Jinn (The unseen beings, 72), foretelling future and occult endeavors, Al-Falaq (The rising dawn, 113). Angels: respect for angel Gabriel and Michael, angels and divine revelations, angels surrounding throne of God, angels descending on doers of good, angels cannot be mediators, watchful force set over human beings.
Afterlife: two stages of life, life term decreed by God and resting place after death, angels of death, pangs of death and futility of repentance, torments of the grave for unbelievers, afterlife by far the better, temporary pleasures of this life verses eternal happiness, life after death is the very truth, reality of hereafter beyond human experience, ultimate reality of hereafter, move onward from stage to stage. Why belief in afterlife is important? Material outlook and moral decay, individual and social sufferings, justice in afterlife. Denial of afterlife: denial of afterlife equals denying God, punishment for denying afterlife, Quran and the after life. Denial of resurrection by pagans of Arabia and the Quranic response: End of term for mankind and sarcastic demand for judgment, resurrection enchanting delusion, raising men from bones and dust, resurrection fables of ancient times, resurrection seems far-fetched, denial of resurrection, answers to metaphysical questions and divergent views, requited in full on the day of resurrection, parable of God’s power to bring dead back to life, bringing man forth anew, reflect upon your own creation, parable of rain, God’s unlimited power of creativity, consider miracle of life, examples of creation in this life, resurrection a new act of creation, everything goes back to its source.
